The Alaska Department of Transportation & Public Facilities is KUAC’s Featured Sponsor for April

Changes are in the works for this year’s construction season! The Alaska Navigator website, which has been the main hub of construction traffic information in the past, will be decommissioned. Alaskans can now find all traffic information, including construction impacts, on 511.alaska.gov! Want to dig into the details about construction projects? Check out the Alaska Project Exchange (APEX), a group of tools to connect you with construction information, at dot.alaska.gov/construction. We encourage everyone to check out these tools and stay up-to-date on projects in their communities!

The Alaska Department of Transportation & Public Facilities (DOT&PF) oversees more than 5,600 miles of paved and gravel highways, 235 rural airports, two international airports (Fairbanks International Airport and Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport), over 800 public facilities, and a ferry system covering 3,500 marine miles serving 33 coastal communities. The mission of Alaska DOT&PF is to “Keep Alaska Moving through service and infrastructure.”

Alaska DOT&PF was established on July 1, 1977, by Alaska Highway Commissioner Walter Parker. Alaska DOT&PF designs, constructs, operates, and maintains the state’s transportation infrastructure systems, buildings, and other facilities used by Alaskans and visitors.

DOT&PF appreciates its partnership with KUAC for helping to reach people with information that matters to them—both through sponsorships and KUAC News. Alaska DOT&PF projects are active across the state, including Fairbanks and the surrounding areas. KUAC offers a chance to help people get information they need when they need it. Thanks for helping to keep Alaska moving!
