Since 1967, Radiology Consultants Inc. has provided Interior Alaskans with diagnostic and interventional radiology services.

The members of Radiology Consultants provide comprehensive diagnostic and interventional imaging services at Fairbanks Memorial Hospital, Tanana Valley Clinic and Chief Andrew Isaac Health Center. Group members provide a broad spectrum of diagnostic services, including dedicated expertise in the imaging diagnosis of breast, musculoskeletal, and neurologic disease. RCI also provides image guided diagnostic and therapeutic services such as biopsies. The group strives to provide Fairbanks-area residents the highest level of care, allowing community members to remain close to home for imaging, interpretation and interventional procedures.

Radiology Consultants has long been committed to the local community and Interior of Alaska. Since being established in 1967, the group has historically been comprised of long-time members of the Fairbanks community, including those who grew up in Alaska. In the words of Dr. Janice Chen, “We want to be a cohesive group that is community-based.” To this end, the group has long supported local organizations and fundraising activities to help enrich the community.

Modern medicine increasingly relies upon sophisticated imaging technology for accurate diagnosis and assessing effect of therapy. Recognizing this important role, the private, independent physicians of RCI work closely with Fairbanks Memorial Hospital to ensure the most up to date services are available to the Fairbanks community. In conjunction with FMH, the group helped bring 3D breast imaging (tomosynthesis) to the community. More recently, the group helped FMH successfully update computed tomography (CT) services, with a new state-of-the-art scanner providing unparalleled imaging quality while simultaneously substantially reducing patient radiation dose.

In concert with their community-based philosophy, Radiology Consultants has been a long-time supporter of KUAC. The group believes public radio and television stations are valuable assets in Alaska. “KUAC is a source of culturally significant content and it enriches our community. Philanthropy is part of our philosophical mission of community service and commitment.”

Radiology Consultants Inc. provides services at Fairbanks Memorial Hospital 24 hours a day, seven days a week, with routine outpatient services available at Fairbanks Imaging Center 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays.
