Perrizo Enterprises

Perrizo EnterprisesPerrizo Enterprises is KUAC’s Featured Corporate Sponsor for June

Perrizo Enterprises, primarily a producer of lawn and garden soils, began 10 years ago. Jim Perrizo had purchased a piece of equipment at auction in 2008 with the intention of re-selling it. When that didn’t occur, other doors opened. Flowline Alaska wanted to get rid of 70,000 cubic yards of decomposed organics that would make beautiful topsoil. At the same time, North Pole and Fort Wainwright were without a nearby source of lawn and garden soil, so the equipment, source of material and a market all unfolded in a year that Jim’s job of producing ready mix concrete at Fairbanks Sand & Gravel didn’t have a great deal of work. “Things fell in place,” Jim said. “I have spent the better part of my working career overseeing the production of sand and gravel products, asphalt and concrete; adding another product to my experience seemed like a good fit.”

Jim has listened to and watched public broadcasting nearly his entire life. Since coming to Fairbanks in 1994, he has been listening to KUAC FM. “I enjoy the programming and believe in the station’s community interaction.”
