KUAC’s featured corporate sponsor for December 2016 is Two Street Gallery, a fine art cooperative gallery featuring the work of 26 Alaska artists. Located downtown in the landmark Co-Op Plaza, Two Street showcases an eclectic mix of ceramics, paintings, limited edition prints, sculptures, scrimshaw, textiles, photography, jewelry, collage and mixed media.
The relationship between Two Street Gallery and KUAC goes both ways: the cooperative supports KUAC with financial donations and the artists enjoy listening to the FM station while creating art.
“KUAC’s stories, music and news without commercial interruption are the stimulation we need to complete our work,” said Two Street’s Margaret Donat. “Sometimes we even find inspiration from news and other programs for our visual stories.
“KUAC represents the Fairbanks community that has supported our business for over five years, and we want to express our appreciation to everyone. Thank you KUAC and Fairbanks.”
Not only is Two Street a year-round corporate sponsor for KUAC FM and TV, the gallery opted in with a matching challenge during the Fall Fundraiser, offering bonus donations when callers identified themselves as artists.
Throughout December, Two Street is hosting a Holiday Gift Spectacular Monday through Friday from 11 to 6, Saturday from 11 to 5 and Sunday from 11 to 4. The artists invite everyone to visit and look over the gift selection and choose from handcrafted ornaments, intricate mammoth ivory scrimshaw, delicate handmade pottery, masterful woodblock prints, stunning watercolors, sparkling glass ravens and shimmering sterling jewelry.
