Whether you called in, walked in or went online to show your support of KUAC during the 2016 Fall Fundraiser, your generosity continues to sustain KUAC.
We are buoyed by the 1,561 gifts made during the drive, including contributions from 1,359 people who renewed their support, 202 new donors, 255 new sustaining donors and 63 existing sustaining donors who upgraded their level of support.
Bright and early on Oct. 8, UA President Jim Johnsen and Jo Heckman, chair of the UA Board of Regents, hit the airwaves supported by the Fairbanks Rotary Club on the phone bank. Following them were seasoned and brand new “pitchers” who bravely went on air to ask listeners to commit to supporting KUAC.
If you called in with your support, or were listening to KUAC during the fundraiser, you no doubt heard some of the many voices from area businesses and organizations who support our mission. Whether they answered phones, provided on-air talent, performed or committed some random act of kindness, our hearts are made more glad by folks from 2 Street Gallery, A Bunch of Banjo Players, Aircraft Owners & Pilots Association, Alaska Photographic Repair, American Lung Association, Boreal Sun Charter School, Brazen Bistro, College Rotary, Contra Borealis Dancers, Denali Elementary School, Downtown Association, Rotary Club of Fairbanks, Fairbanks Children’s Museum, Ester Community Association, Fairbanks Daily News-Miner, Fairbanks Distilling Co., Fairbanks Folk Festival, Fairbanks North Star Borough School District, Fairbanks Rollergirls, Fairbanks Ski Patrol, Fairbanks Symphony, First National Bank of Alaska, General Aviation Association, Golden Heart Community Foundation, HooDoo Brewing Co., Interior Democrats, International Arctic Research Center, KUAC Community Advisory Council, Lathrop High School – Staff & Administration, North Star Ballet, Northern Alaska Peace Corps Friends, Office of Public Advocacy, Osher Lifelong Learning Institute, Opera Fairbanks, Plenty for All, Raven Homeschool, Resource Center for Parents & Children, Street Sounds, Sunrisers Rotary, Tundra Talkers Toastmasters Construction, URSA Major Distilling and West Valley High School Model UN.

The KUAC community came through in a big way![/caption]Given the current fiscal climate, we set our goals conservatively, but once again, the KUAC community came through in a big way. So many of you took advantage of the numerous challenges issued by the following individuals and businesses: Design Alaska/GHEMM Company; Jana Varrati, Nome; Sourdough Fuel and FoodMart; North Star Ballet; Joyce Soong; Two Street Gallery; Dog Mushers; Julia Quist; Interior Women’s Health Center; Pogo Mine in Delta; Marlys Schneider; Kinross Fort Knox; Bettisworth North; Water Wagon; Doyon, Limited; First National Bank of Alaska; Banjo Phone Bank; Crisenbery Machine; Tom George for Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association; Jeffrey Gordon of Fairbanks Physical Therapy; Wells Fargo Bank; ABR, Inc.; Paul Reichardt; Alaska Cruise Association/Cruise Lines International; Kate Ripley for the UAF Alumni Association; Dennis Stephens; Street Sounds; Fairbanks Distributors and Kurt Wold of Pingo Farm.
When we add the amount we started the fiscal year with from last year’s sustaining donors to the totals of this drive, including the Design Alaska/GHEMM Company Sustaining Donor challenge, it all adds up to more than $500,000 raised by you for KUAC. Thank you doesn’t do it justice!
Fairbanks, Nome, Tok, Eagle, Healy, Nenana, Delta and Bettles…and all points between and afar…we are both overwhelmed and humbled by the magnitude of your support.
