November Featured Sponsor is Great Alaskan Bowl Company
The Great Alaskan Bowl Company was formed by businessman Lewis Bratcher in 1991, in response to a changing Alaskan economy. Looking for a business that is sustained by an outside economy, tourism, the company started with bowls and a handful of Alaskan makers. It has since turned 30 years old, and now represents over 110 Alaskan makers, and manufactures bowls, steins, vases, birdfeeders, bottle holders, coasters, and more all while offering full laser engraving personalization for individuals and organizations.
The Great Alaskan Bowl Company manufactures birch bowls, steins and a variety of other items from raw materials found in Alaska. We also invest in other Alaskan makers to create a true Made-in-Alaska emporium, focusing on home goods, gourmet foods and gifts for all ages. The store provides an environment where excellent customer service, full shipping and handling, gift wrapping and laser personalization are offered seven days a week, year-round.
Owner Lewis Bratcher and family are passionate about representing Alaska forest product manufacturing and the 100+ other Alaskan businesses they support and sell. This shop epitomizes shopping local! They shop local to stock the store and customers shop local in it.
“We choose to support KUAC because it is a smart business decision. Our messages are heard by current and future customers keeping them updated and us at the front of their mind when they need Alaskan gifts,” said Emily Berriochoa, the store’s retail manager. “Also, KUAC is personally valued by my family and this is an additional way I can support the station while also supporting our business. I was brought up on KUAC TV and Radio and had the opportunity to further KUAC’s mission when I worked at the station from 2013-2015. It has and always will be very close to my heart. My children love hearing their names read during their birthday month, and my husband and I are sustaining donors.”
