Two KUAC employees were recognized for extraordinary service recently at a University of Alaska Fairbanks summer awards celebration.
Emily Elterman, traffic coordinator and broadcast technician, and Caleb Souder, broadcast technician and TV master control, were honored for their superior efforts and work ethic.
“Behind the scenes and without fanfare, Emily Elterman and Caleb Souder play critical roles in keeping KUAC’s television services on the air and running smoothly,” said Carolyn Hall, director of TV Programming, Traffic and Operations.
“Emily and Caleb wear multiple hats at KUAC, but one of their primary responsibilities is monitoring our broadcast signals and maintaining on-time, seamless streams of programming. We never want our viewers to experience program interruptions, but when computers glitch or power outages occur, Emily and Caleb act swiftly and do all they can to help resolve problems as quickly and effectively as possible. They communicate clearly, share knowledge freely with co-workers, are highly motivated and have very positive attitudes. They are also quick learners who eagerly take on new responsibilities and continue to grow in their jobs.
“Emily and Caleb are valuable members of the KUAC team who deserve a moment in the spotlight and a little fanfare,” Hall said.
