“The Cat in the Hat Knows a Lot About That” debuts Labor Day on AlaskaOne

The Cat in the HatBased on Dr. Seuss’ landmark book, this PBS KIDS show premieres this fall to inspire preschoolers to learn to read and explore nature and science. The mischievous, lanky cat wearing a red and white striped hat – voiced by award-winning actor Martin Short - guides friends Sally and Nick on fun-filled adventures where they discover how bees make honey to why owls sleep during the day.

The Cat in the Hat makes his television series debut on PBS KIDS, joining the stellar company of their other top-rated weekday shows, including Curious George, SUPER WHY! and Dinosaur Train, starting September 6 at 7:30 a.m. with a rebroadcast at 1:30 p.m. It airs weekdays at both of those times as well as on Saturdays at 6:30 a.m.

Join us on AlaskaOne Channel 9.1 on Mon., Sept. 6 for the Labor Day double-episode debut.

 
“Curious George” turns his attention to different cultures this fall

Curious George Hot on the heels of his 2010 Emmy Award for "Outstanding Children's Animated Program," Curious George is back for a new season, bringing his contagious enthusiasm and sense of wonder to a new set of mis-adventures. Premiering September 6th, the fifth season of “Curious George” finds the lovable monkey and a new friend Marco, who plays in his family’s pan-Latin band, exploring elements of Hispanic culture like food, music and celebration. Based on the best-selling books by Margret and H.A. Rey, “Curious George” airs twice daily Monday through Friday at 7 a.m. and 11 a.m. on AlaskaOne Channel 9.1
