Beginning at 11 a.m., KUAC will broadcast Encounters in place of Nerdette and debut Alt. Latino at 11:30 a.m. While Nerdette and Encounters, are not producing new programs, Encounters has numerous shows for broadcast. Cycling through all of them is resulting in some repeats but not within the year. However, Nerdette has far fewer shows made for radio broadcast, and these shows have repeated several times already on KUAC2.
Alt. Latino features interviews and insightful conversation about Latin events and culture and introduces listeners to new alternative Latin music, including diverse genres such as cumbia, Mexican garage rock, mariachi and more.
Xponential Radio continues to kick off at noon every Sunday and starting this Sunday, an extra hour from 4 to 5 is offered on KUAC2. We experimented with several different shows in the 4 o’clock hour but none of the shows are producing a weekly series to fill an entire year.
KUAC2 is produced using a high level of automation to reduce the hours spent by staff to keep the content fresh, and we also strive to keep listeners engaged with the programing. Balancing the two goals has led us to increase the hours of Xponential Radio on Sundays by one hour.
On KUAC3, KUAC will be making a change to ensure the weekly automation runs more seamlessly. Pipedreams moves up to the 4 to 6pm spot and trades places with Sunday Baroque, which will now air from 6 to 10pm.
KUAC2 and KUAC3 are additional services that are available many ways for listeners. Try the NPR app on your mobile device to stream all three KUAC stations. HD receivers are available for your home and vehicle to listen to KUAC over the digital airwaves.
