Five decades ago, the sounds of Beethoven’s Emperor Concerto floated across the airwaves of Interior Alaska as our state’s first public radio station began broadcasting, on October 1st, 1962.
To celebrate, StoryCorps is visiting Fairbanks for a week to record oral histories, thanks to a generous gift from Fairbanks Memorial Hospital & Denali Center. As thirty people prepare to share their stories, we wish to thank our community for supporting KUAC’s mission: to tell stories that would otherwise go untold.
Celebrate your love for all things KUAC! Make a gift today to keep your public radio strong at kuac.org. Thank you!
